Highlights

Day1 Onomichi

Meet up in Onomichi, the gateway to the Shimanami Kaidō.
This nostalgic port town facing the Seto Inland Sea is known for its steady flow of boats and timeless charm. Just across the water lies Mukaishima—the starting point of our cycling adventure—which builds anticipation for the journey to come.

On this first day, we’ll set up the bikes and gather for a welcome party where guests and guides can get to know each other. It’s a chance to share hopes for the tour and recharge both body and spirit before we set off

Day2 Shimanami-Kaido

Ride through Japan’s most iconic cycling route—the Shimanami Kaidō.
Spanning six islands and six bridges across the Seto Inland Sea, this world-renowned route is a dream destination for Japanese cyclists and is now attracting riders from around the globe. On clear days, the expansive contrast between sea and sky offers some of the most breathtaking views in Japan.

At day's end, we’ll stay overnight on the final island, Ōshima, where a seaside hot spring awaits—perfect for easing the day’s cycling fatigue while gazing out at the ocean.

Day3 Dogo Onsen

Now, onward to Shikoku!
Our journey into Shikoku begins with the grand Kurushima Kaikyō Bridge—the final span of the Shimanami Kaidō. Crossing over the sea, we set foot on the island and head toward our first destination: Dogo Onsen, said to be Japan’s oldest hot spring.

The peaceful countryside roads eventually open up to a lively hot spring town, where tradition and modernity coexist in harmony. After cycling under the crisp winter sky, soaking in the soothing waters of the onsen is the perfect reward for both body and soul.

Day4-5 Ozu

Let’s venture deeper into Shikoku.
From Matsuyama, the largest city in Shikoku, we head inland toward Ozu, where the rich nature of the island becomes more vivid with every kilometer. Often called the “Little Kyoto of Shikoku,” Ozu is a charming town that preserves its traditional streetscapes and quiet atmosphere.

Our accommodation for the night is a one-of-a-kind stay in a renovated heritage building over a century old, offering a truly unique experience. With its scattered historical sites—including a beautifully preserved castle—Ozu invites us to slow down. On Day 5, we’ll take a well-earned pause to explore the town at a relaxed pace and unwind in our special lodging.

Day6 Shikoku Mountain Range

Crossing the Mountains of Shikoku
Running through the heart of Shikoku is a vast mountain range—and today, we take on the challenge of crossing it. With the support of our E-bikes, even this formidable terrain becomes an achievable adventure. The reward? Panoramic views that never fail to inspire.

Beyond the mountains lies the Shimanto River, often called Japan’s last clear stream. This region is free from large cities, offering a serene stillness, and when night falls, the lack of artificial light reveals a breathtaking star-filled sky.

Day7 Shimanto River

This is the True Essence of Shikoku.
We’ll cycle upstream along the Shimanto River, one of Shikoku’s most iconic waterways. The island is known for its crystal-clear rivers that flow from the central mountains, and the Shimanto stands out as a symbol of this pristine beauty.

Along the way, we’ll pass through a series of chinka-bashi—low-water crossing bridges that appear only in this region, offering a glimpse into traditional rural life. That evening, we’ll stay at a secluded mountain hotel with its own onsen. Soaking in the open-air bath while gazing out at the river and forest is a moment of pure bliss.

Day8 Kochi

The Journey Ends in a Lively and Unique City
After cycling through mountains, forests, and rivers, our final destination awaits in the south of Shikoku—Kochi. This vibrant city is rich in local culture, bursting with flavorful dishes, regional sake, and traditions that remain proudly intact.

We’ll wrap up the journey in a lively market, where the sounds, scents, and smiles of Kōchi bring everything together. It’s the perfect place to share memories, celebrate new friendships, and soak in the warmth of Shikoku’s people one last time.

Day9 Departure
