The Overall Tour
This was a truly immersive and enriching journey through one of Japan’s most beautiful and less-explored islands. Shikoku offers a rare blend of scenic coastal rides, quiet mountain roads, and culturally rich towns. The pace was well thought-out—challenging enough for avid cyclists, but with enough balance to enjoy the surroundings and absorb the local atmosphere.
The Service
From the moment we were picked up to the last leg of the ride, the service was flawless. The team was highly responsive during booking and preparation, and they made sure every detail was taken care of. Bikes were high-quality and well-maintained, accommodation was thoughtfully chosen, and luggage transfers were seamless. There was a clear emphasis on comfort and guest care at every stage.
The Route
The route was breathtaking starting with the spectacular Shimanami Kaido, cycling across the seven bridges. Over the next 6 days we cycled through picturesque fishing villages, along dramatic coastal roads, through tea plantations and up through peaceful mountain passes. The traffic-free backroads made riding a pure joy and allowed us to connect with the landscape in a truly personal way.
The Guides
Our guides, Fumiya, Masao and Taka were exceptional—knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly thoughtful. They had a deep understanding of the region’s culture, history, and geography, and brought the landscape to life with fascinating stories and local insights. They also struck the perfect balance between leading the group and giving us space to enjoy the experience individually.
If you’re considering a cycling tour in Japan, I can’t recommend this enough. It was an unforgettable adventure.
