Day1 Hiroshima
The journey begins in Hiroshima, where participants meet and prepare for the week ahead. This vibrant city in western Japan serves as the perfect backdrop for assembling gear and bonding over a lively welcome party. With bikes adjusted and stories exchanged, a sense of camaraderie begins to form, setting the stage for the unforgettable landscapes and cultural encounters to come.

Day2 Tobishima-Kaido
We depart Hiroshima and head toward Osaki-Shimojima, one of the islands in the Seto Inland Sea. After leaving the city behind, we take a ferry and enter the Tobishima Kaido. Though less well-known than the Shimanami Kaido, this cycling route is equally scenic, connecting a series of small islands by bridges. The ride offers a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful coastal views, making it a hidden gem for cyclists.

Day3 Shimanami-Kaido
Today we enter Shikoku! From Osaki-Shimojima, we cycle and take a ferry to Omishima, then ride along Japan’s most famous cycling route, the Shimanami Kaido, arriving in Imabari—the gateway to Shikoku. Upon reaching the city, we visit Imabari Castle, one of the region’s premier historic landmarks, and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

Day4 Countryside Road
From Imabari to Matsuyama, the route follows quiet rural roads through orchards, fields, and rice paddies. This is the quintessential Japanese countryside, and always a favorite among guests. Along the way, enjoy conversations about local fruits and crops while cycling at a relaxed pace. The day ends in Matsuyama, Shikoku’s largest city, where sightseeing spots are just steps from the hotel.

Day5 Shikoku Karst
Our journey continues across the mountains toward the quiet town of Yusuhara. The highlight of the day is the Shikoku Karst, a breathtaking plateau at 1,500 meters above sea level. The route includes several
challenging climbs, but with e-bikes and a support vehicle, you can ride with confidence. After enjoying the sweeping views from the highlands, we descend on a long downhill ride into the secluded mountain town of Yusuhara, where you’ll experience the charm of rural Japan.

Day6 Niyodo River
Today’s ride follows the banks of the Niyodo River, renowned as the clearest river in Japan. Shikoku is home to many pristine waterways. As we cycle, we’ll hear stories of the industries born from the river—such as sake brewing, tea cultivation, and papermaking—and imagine the rhythms of rural life. This blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage will create lasting memories of your journey.

Day7 Tea firm Scenery and Peninsula
The highlight of this day is cycling through tea fields, followed by a cultural experience tasting Shikoku-grown tea. In the afternoon, the ride reaches the Pacific Ocean, where a peninsula route reveals dramatic ria coastlines and endless blue sea and sky. Overnight stay in Kochi, our home base, where friendly locals and lively markets promise memorable encounters.

Day8 Departure
From Kochi Station or Kochi Airport, guests will head off to their next destinations. The nearest Shinkansen station, Okayama, is about two and a half hours away by express train. Direct flights to Tokyo and Osaka take approximately one and a half hours.

Cultual Encounters

Mitarai is a beautifully preserved port town that flourished during the Edo period as a hub for maritime trade and travel along the Seto Inland Sea. Its streets are lined with traditional merchant houses, stone-paved alleys, and historic buildings that reflect the prosperity of the era.
