Highlights

Day1 Onomichi

The journey begins in Onomichi, a charming small town on the Seto Inland Sea. Here, participants gather and prepare for the week ahead. With its narrow hillside streets, cozy cafés, and views of the sea dotted with islands, Onomichi offers the perfect backdrop for assembling gear and sharing stories at a lively welcome party. As bikes are adjusted and friendships begin to form, the warm atmosphere of this town sets the tone for the unforgettable landscapes and cultural encounters to come.

Day2 Shimanami-Kaido

On the first day, ride Japan’s most famous cycling route, the Shimanami Kaido. Crossing six islands and six bridges offers breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea. The bridges are specially designed with separate lanes for cyclists, making this one of the world’s most celebrated cycling roads. The final suspension bridge stretches 4 kilometers, and crossing it marks your arrival in Shikoku. Overnight stay in Imabari, the gateway to the island.

Day3 Countryside Road

From Imabari to Matsuyama, the route follows quiet rural roads through orchards, fields, and rice paddies. This is the quintessential Japanese countryside, and always a favorite among guests. Along the way, enjoy conversations about local fruits and crops while cycling at a relaxed pace. The day ends in Matsuyama, Shikoku’s largest city, where sightseeing spots are just steps from the hotel.

Day4 Shikoku Karst

Our journey continues across the mountains toward the quiet town of Yusuhara. The highlight of the day is the Shikoku Karst, a breathtaking plateau at 1,500 meters above sea level. The route includes several
challenging climbs, but with e-bikes and a support vehicle, you can ride with confidence. After enjoying the sweeping views from the highlands, we descend on a long downhill ride into the secluded mountain town of Yusuhara, where you’ll experience the charm of rural Japan.

Day5 Niyodo River

Today’s ride follows the banks of the Niyodo River, renowned as the clearest river in Japan. Shikoku is home to many pristine waterways. As we cycle, we’ll hear stories of the industries born from the river—such as sake brewing, tea cultivation, and papermaking—and imagine the rhythms of rural life. This blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage will create lasting memories of your journey.
