What made you decide to join this tour?
Guest:
I first heard about the Shimanami Kaido and thought it looked amazing. Then I realized you could also cycle in Shikoku. I looked up more about it, saw some beautiful pictures, and thought, “This could be a really special place.” The reviews were great too, so I decided to go for it.

Which place left the biggest impression on you?
Guest:
That’s a tough question! Each place had something unique.
But I remember the first ride—through the grassy fields, Shikoku Karst. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much, but it was shaded, had some climbs, and the scenery was stunning. Also, the ice cream at the top of the hill—such a simple moment, but it really stuck with me.
And the UFO Line… I ran out of battery there, but the views were incredible.
Coming downhill was also amazing—fast, thrilling, and unforgettable.

Do you have any moments you’ll never forget?
Guest:
Yes—cycling through rice fields. I kept stopping to take pictures.
As a child, I always wanted to see rice paddies like that. Now that I’ve seen them, it’s something I’ll carry with me forever.
And the rivers! The clarity, the length, the way they flowed through the landscape—it was breathtaking.
But I'll never forget during 20 kilometers up there, though.

How did you feel about the culture and nature you experienced in Shikoku?
Guest:
It felt very authentic. I texted my daughter, who lived in Japan for a few months, and told her, “This is the real Japan.”
There weren’t many tourists, which made it feel even more genuine. I loved that.

If you were to recommend this tour to others, how would you describe it?
Guest:
I’d call it an adventure. We didn’t know exactly what to expect, but it turned out to be incredible.
I’ve traveled in New Zealand, which is spectacular—but this experience in Shikoku, with its nature and hospitality, might even top that.
It’s not just beautiful—it’s deeply memorable.

What food did you enjoy the most?
Guest:
The sushi was excellent, but the beef meal we had in Yakiniku-restaurant(Japanese BBQ) —wow. That was the best beef I’ve ever tasted.
And the ice cream at the top of the hill? Simple, but perfect.
